Mark founded S&Y in 2014 after a career spanning public accounting at Deloitte & Touche, private industry, and M&A advisory. A Cal Poly San Luis Obispo graduate, he leads the firm's strategic direction and serves as strategic finance advisor for several of S&Y's largest YMCA clients. Mark brings deep expertise in financial modeling, audit support, and systems implementation.
Ben graduated from Michigan State University with a Mathematics degree in 2012 and spent nine years in YMCA aquatics operations, closing his tenure as Aquatics Director at the YMCA of San Diego County. He joined S&Y in 2016 and currently leads nonprofit engagements aggregating over $20M in annual budgeted revenue. Ben's YMCA operational background gives him a unique understanding of the organizations he serves.
Before joining S&Y in 2020, Alicia began her career in 2008 as an auditor at The Condon Group, Ltd., a CPA firm based in the south suburbs of Chicago, where she performed attestation services as well as bookkeeping, tax and valuation services to small businesses primarily within the construction, manufacturing and non-profit sectors. She progressed her career as a staff accountant and financial analyst at Navistar International, moved into an accounting manager role at Bibby Financial Services, and most recently worked as a Finance Manager at Jones Lang LaSalle serving clients such as Bristol Myers Squibb and PepsiCo. Her background includes financial statement preparation, budget and forecast modeling, contract review, cash analysis and revenue recognition, as well as project management, system conversions and process improvements.
Monica began her career at Deloitte & Touche in 2007, specializing in real estate, hospitality, and financial services engagements. She later joined NBCUniversal in financial planning and analysis, where she managed monthly cash pacing, quarter close analysis, and delivered financial presentations to senior management. She brings deep FP&A expertise to S&Y's client engagements.
Kilvian has over 20 years of accounting and financial management experience across manufacturing, insurance, and nonprofit organizations. She has supported companies through mergers, acquisitions, and post-deal integrations, with a focus on financial reporting, month-end close, audit preparation, and process improvement. Her background also includes working with global entities to align accounting operations under unified systems. At Skeehan & Young, Kilvian applies this experience to provide accurate reporting, reliable analysis, and steady support for clients.
Elizabeth is an experienced accounting professional with a strong background in financial reporting, audit support, and outsourced accounting services. She specializes in working with not-for-profit organizations, helping them maintain compliance, improve financial processes, and make informed decisions. She leads teams, streamlines operations, and delivers clear, accurate financial insights. Elizabeth holds an MBA in Accounting and multiple software certifications, and is known for her collaborative approach and commitment to high-quality work.
Maria graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on Human Resources Management in 2015 from Haigazian University in Beirut, Lebanon. She moved to the United States in 2016 and pursued her education in accounting, achieving her CPA license in February of 2022. Prior to joining the Skeehan & Young team in 2020, she worked at an online retailer in client service and accounting support.
Sarah graduated from Northern Illinois University with a degree in Accountancy in 2012. She has ten years of experience working in corporate accounting, focusing on month-end reporting, financial analysis and managing year-end audits. During those years, Sarah was recognized for creating multiple process improvement initiatives. Since joining the firm in 2022, Sarah provides a wide variety of client services including financial statement generation and analysis, ledger maintenance, payroll processing, and more.
